This week, Fuji announced it will discontinue my favourite analog film: Fuji Pro 400H. I’m very sad to see it go.
I switched to shooting almost exclusively on 400H after falling in love with Rinko Kawauchi’s first three books.
The pastel hues in Kawauchi’s books is what I was chasing by over-exposing Fuji Pro 400H, but soon I shot everything on it. The film was tremendously versatile, was forgiving of my errors and added something interesting to the simplest scenes.
As many things analog have been gradually been disappearing throughout the years, I had hoped Fuji Pro 400H would remain spared, but alas.
I still have a few rolls left in my fridge, which I’ll need to save for special occasions before it’s forever gone.
